How to Stay Healthy During Flu Season

Flu season can bring unwanted sickness, but with the right precautions, you can protect yourself and your family.

1. Get Vaccinated:

The flu vaccine is the best defense against the flu. It helps your body build immunity, so even if you do catch the virus, your symptoms are less severe.

2. Practice Good Hygiene:

Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap isn’t available, use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Also, avoid touching your face, especially your eyes, nose, and mouth.

3. Stay Hydrated:

Drink plenty of fluids to help your body fight off infections. Water, herbal teas, and broths are great choices.

4. Rest and Boost Your Immunity:

Ensure you get 7-9 hours of sleep each night to keep your immune system strong. Eating foods rich in vitamins like Vitamin C and Zinc, such as citrus fruits, leafy greens, and nuts, can also help support immunity.

5. Stay Away from Sick People:

If possible, avoid close contact with people who are sick, and if you’re sick, stay home to avoid spreading the flu.
